Abandoned here? Ok ... The chapter posted the other day, my thoughts.
It moved along the story and while it certainly was notable, oddly I can only think to comment on the kids in the bunker. Why would WOMP want them in the dark to the outside world? Also a little shocked that with this set decades into the future, the TV would be programmed to show a 1950's sitcom.

It’s less they want them in the dark than they want to keep them from escaping, and Penny’s the sort of kid who would find a way, of given any sort of access. As for the ancient entertainment, it’s more a way as to not offend any parents. They’re going overboard, but in my experience, that’s what tends to happen.

Unless you've brought this up before and I've simply forgotten the fact. You might have wanted to say in advance the cops' guns weren't normal guns. Future sci fi pistols is the explanation ringing to my mind about Kayla's defense move with the dirt. Linc's robot controlling made me grin a little but I realize his approach is different than Petra's.

My mind must be stuck back in the early 2000’s, where every gun in cartoons were laser guns by default. As a refresher, who is Petra?

I wondered a little if that's what you had your writing harking back to. Petra is related to Prof. Venom. MAD hired her for out of a form of spite revenge because of his death. She controls a monstrously of a robot creature named "Tarasoptwire". Her commands to it are verbal. I guess Linc's commands are done through thought? You might have seen an illustration I did showing her a while back.

As I said on FF.net, this is collective of the most recent postings. Going on from the review posted over there, a continuation. Your love of experiment horror shows here again. ... The thought of a helpful demon goes against Catholic values but mutilation is ok? I ... I don't know what to say. Except I will continue reading and hope some bright ray of sunshine happens for William.
