Two more pages to the next story, the steampunk one. Over a year of planning it and something just dawned on me the other day about it. That without the intention it reflects notes to the current state of the United States.
For female characters having attention focused on them it's been off & on and not very center stage. The ones who have had the most of this have been Penny and Heather. Now this story is the first to have a female lead of Jocelyn. With the major movement of women showing an increased role in politics, likely more now then any other time I can recall in at least my lifetime in paying attention to the news.I wasn't even thinking of that when I started inventing the coming story.
Immigration, people coming to the US in hopes of a better life. Again forefront in the news, sadly to the note of people getting treated beyond poorly thanks to the ***** in charge.
It was always planned Jocelyn would be changing location from England to the US. Patrick being from an immigrated family too happened by way of having to have him verbally lay out a matter to her, and one note to language usage we'd normally never *hear ( *wording at least I've never heard ).
I just thought I'd share this with you guys. This was not intended to be fictional reflection of sorts, it just became one.
Anyone have any thoughts about what was written and in short time is going to start being posted on DA & later to ComicFury?

I actually like the idea of the "steampunk" theme, it's very unique. is this going to be written fan fiction or a AU comic?

AU comic. All my comics for this universe fall into that nature.
In the beginning of thinking about writing the story, I did lightly entertain the idea of creating it in prose format. But felt comic would be a more interesting medium for the content. That's why some concept art for it has already been made. Even the other night I was researching how I should have people dressing which is not a straight forward answer for the era the story is set in.
Again Butterfly, if you'd like to read this one. Having read the other stories first, set in the same universe isn't necessary.
In my AU Scolex Enterprises which is later renamed MAD in the dawn of the 90's, started in the 30's. Remember how this AU is comprised of a few different DiC fandoms? Well in this VILE started up in the 1873 ... that is a trivia joke if you want to connect dots outside cartoon information.
While the story does connect to the Inspector Gadget fandom on a few fronts also. None of that connects to present day characters. One joke exists which connects it to Gadget Boy but in a kind of sideways fashion of direct but not at the same time.

this sounds pretty cool! thanks for the information about it. I don't know much about Gadget Boy because I wasn't much of a fan, but a fanfic that connects with some of it sounds interesting.

I posted page 1 a short while ago. Butterfly asked for a heads up ... just through I'd share it with everyone. ... Not that it will do any good. Not really expecting this story to be read like anything else I publish online.

Is it ok if I could share the DA link on my Tumblr? I know there is an option on DA, but I want to ask first.

Welcome and no objection at all. ... Butterfly while I appreciate what you are doing, I've come to accept what I produce, 99% of people out there don't want to see. When I tell people what I do is write Inspector Gadget fan fiction. Even saying it's different from the cartoons & movies. They think in advance it can be pigeonholed to it's canon origin easily and then when they discover it's not what they expected, that's a turn off.

I looked at the first two pages and it's off to a great start. also I wonder how many of the characters have counter parts in that timeline.

Thanks but ... Same timeline it's just this is set in the distant past. There are characters in this from the Classic & Gadgetinis series, none which have been used before.

the little robots ? nice. ... Fidget & Digit are Finn & Dirk in this AU. The character picked from Gadgetinis and I think I might have said this before. Has no canon name. In fact the usage was only in one episode.
