Nice! I actually use this version of Slickstein in my story (first name Johan, to differentiate him from his grandfather, Otto) and I like how you draw him better than how he looks in canon. Nice job! Thank you! Oh that's cool! Like I haven't seen one piece of fanart for this guy so I assumed nobody liked him. But yeah, his canon outfit looks more like a generic nerdy game show host than a scientist so I made a few changes there.

Doodled Capeman without a reference so idk what I was doing: Don't know why but this version of Capeman you made seems more like a new IG enemy. XD Anyway it's pretty good!

Doodled Capeman without a reference so idk what I was doing: I think he looks better here! And I have to agree with Polar, he has a sorta villain-ish sorta look going on! I think I would have liked him more as a villain vs a sidekick. Maybe he could have been the 'once was a sidekick, but turned villain' angle. Perhaps a jealously towards Penny! He did after all have a rather..uhh..unhealthy obsession when it came to Gadget now!

Thanks guys! I dunno why I drew him sinister looking, it just kinda happened lol. And yes, I can totally see Capeman as a scorned sidekick that turns to the dark side. Like Syndrome from The Incredibles.

Did a sketch of this nerd: I actually kind of like 2015 Von Slickstein? I think I'm the only one that does. If I see these up on DA, they're getting faved ( I've been out & offline all day ). What I said in the note still stands, and awesome job " style="max-width:100%;"]" style="max-width:100%;"]. Thanks so much, Cat! <3 Welcome! Also on the 2015 Von Slickstein, I don't mind his character, but I do wish when ever we get season 2 if show writers care to note the intelligence of the audience. The younger version gets explained outside fan theory. I hold him to the relative idea. As for your Capeman, he does come across a little menacing which I've never seen done in others portraying of him before. Congrats, you've put a new idea out there! I wanna joke given my own take. Alan: Evil clone! ... No wait .. you don't look like a clone.

My Capeman would imagine his online Batman-like superhero persona like that, only with more muscles.

But remember in FOH when John, Alan, and Terry were in the deep depths of MAD's HQ, they did get to see each other looking like their classic cartoon incarnates. If during the time they were investigating the area, Alan got a better look at himself in a mirror he'd see a connection here.

A quick scribbley thing based on stuff I mentioned in the 'being control of the series' thread: Basically a simple toony retro style so it's a little faster to animate. Penny is 8... so two years younger than the original I think? I thought it might be fun to have Penny be very tiny compared to Gadget just for the potential of physical comedy. Plus it would help her with being able to sneak into places and hide easier. Gadget is an android. I was originally gonna do something like the 'Claw is the real Gadget' theory but everybody seems to hate that idea so I have other ideas. Brain is a cyborg. He's disguised as a toy robot dog so nobody thinks he's too out of the ordinary. In reality he is Penny's bodyguard and packed with weapons and other helpful devices. Welcome! Actually there's a ton of stuff that I think could be fleshed out quite a bit more like Detective Data and how HQ was started. But they're more focused on comedy gags instead. I wonder if Capeman would be more competent as a MAD agent than a good guy... Also I wonder how long he survives before Claw has him murdered for being useless. lol! Your adaption of the character is legitimately the only reason I'm glad that Capeman exists in the first place.

Yeah, I think I'm the only one who rabidly hates the idea. Don't let me restrain your ideas, though. I don't find it offensive, I just personally prefer the Gadget we know to be the one Penny's related to, and I don't think Claw cares one wit about her. However, I will not criticize those who do like that theory, as I'm sure there are theories I like that others rabidly hate. (That said, I'm going to do some things that are pretty different and might make people hate me, so who am I to talk.) As for size, I love that idea too. In my series, Gadget is 6' 8" while Penny, even at 14, is 4' 10". But my other stories have that too, so I guess I just love big men and teeny women.

Also the art is cute! These pieces you keep posting which don't show up in your DA account. While it's a bummer I can't fave them since they aren't seen elsewhere. I think it's cool you're sharing them here. Forum exclusive! You know if I thought Smith Micro would allow it, which I sadly doubt. I'd lend you access to my copy of Anime Studio Pro 9.2 . I bet your animation might not feel so daunting then to produce. Awe thanks! Due to the praise I've noticed directed on my Capeman, I'm a little surprised that when asking people to vote on the coming childhood backstories, he didn't get one vote.

I lovvvvve how Gadget is so much bigger in size compared to widdle Penny! And I just wanna hug Brain! As for your take, I'm not completely against the idea of Gadget being an android. After all my favorite character on STTNG, is Data! I just prefer Gadget being the cyborg he normally is. And I'm with Copter, when it comes to the uncle relationship angle towards Penny. Not saying he wouldn't have feelings as an android, I just think everything he's been through, up to the point where he became a cyborg, would just make his connection to Penny that much more stronger! But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be very curious to read this, if it was a fan fiction!

I don't think it's idea that I'm gonna go with officially but I might still post some sketches of it just for fun. Cute pic! I love those sort of scenes. Yeah, I think I'm the only one who rabidly hates the idea. Don't let me restrain your ideas, though. It was an idea that I thought was entertaining but for my actual storyline I probably want to do something more original anyway. Making Gadget's human counterpart completely evil kinda screws with other aspects of my story and makes less sense the more I consider it. And that's cool, I like seeing radically different takes on things. I've got like... a couple things I'm sort of debating if I want to do or not. I dunno how people will react to the weird things I think up. For the size difference I was inspired somewhat by Gadget Boy which had the opposite: tall woman/little boy That's an interesting take on IG which curiosity begs me to read if you put it out. Also the art is cute! These pieces you keep posting which don't show up in your DA account. While it's a bummer I can't fave them since they aren't seen elsewhere. Due to the praise I've noticed directed on my Capeman, I'm a little surprised that when asking people to vote on the coming childhood backstories, he didn't get one vote. Thank you Cat! ^^ My writing skills aren't particularly good or anything so I'm thinking of doing some stuff in the form of comics... I'm better at getting things across in pictures than in words. Yeah, I feel lazy towards crossposting everything to DA. Most of these will probably show up there at some point. I'm content just sharing these drawings here for now. Thanks, that's very kind of you! I'm going to be looking into upgrading to OpenToonz soon which was recently made free and open source for everyone and is used by major animation studios. Oh, whoops. I missed seeing that poll, sorry. I would have voted for him, that sounds interesting. Omg! Your picture is absolutely freaking adorable! But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be very curious to read this, if it was a fan fiction! Thanks very much Phasm! My backstories to the characters have nothing to do with the 'cop gets injured and rebuilt' storyline which seems to be the canon. I'm making up something new from scratch so IDK how people are gonna feel about it. My Gadget and Penny still have an intensely strong bond, it just develops in a different way. And thanks! I don't know when I'll get around to doing the comics/animations for this but at the very least I'll be continuing posting concept arts and descriptions for my plans.
