Oh you know Von had way too much fun leading that project. of course! just think of all the medical breakthroughs he has with Gadget, including adding new skin. of course adding more 'gadgets' into him just to see if it works. lol! They are lucky Gadget is too stubborn to die on an operating table with all that surgery.

(but I could be wrong lol!)

(but I could be wrong lol!) That is a bit of a thing! He refers to his gadgets as just that, gadgets. Like they aren't part of his own body. Never once (that I know of) does he just call himself bionic/cybernetic. It is always other people. Like he doesn't fully accept who he's become.

Like he doesn't fully accept who he's become. you do have a point! even though, I don't want to get off the subject here. but that is actually a fan theory on the website, TV tropes.
TV Trope Quote: "His lack of control over his Gadget parts is because, subconsciously, he does not accept that they are part of him.
He displays a fear of needles in one 'And Knowing Is Half the Battle segment' despite having metal skin. He simply does not believe that he is a cyborg, and throws himself into his work as an attempt to compensate —"Inspector Gadget is always on duty!" His unacknowledged hatred for his inhuman condition leads him to sabotage himself every time.
This was the way it worked in the first live action movie with Matthew Broderick. Except when Penny is in danger. Notice in the "Coo-Coo Clock Caper" episode where a device is making all of his gadgets act up, he says "I think there's something wrong with my gadgets." Not "there's something wrong with me" or just "there's something wrong." He refers to the gadgets as a separate entity, despite them being a key component of who he is and what he does. Even though they're integrated into him and his identity as an inspector he still talks about them as though they were completely separate and have no impact on his self-identity."
Yeah, just like his artificial skin and limbs, he may think they are still his own body; but his Gadgets are a different story.

Yeah, just like his artificial skin and limbs, he may think they are still his own body; but his Gadgets are a different story. Haha yea h I saw that. I don't know if it would go that deep for him. More just he sees the Gadgets as an extension of himself and himself as a whole is him. (Worded that weird) Burt he's def not fully embraced the gadgets as him. (Tho in the 2015 version-don't kill me-he seems more okay with it. There is a scene where he refers to the springs as his knees.) Bringing it back! The skin. The skin makes him pass as a normal guy until he uses the gadgets. The skin is probably important to him to feel human. Skin protects him not just from the normal stuff but from not being fully human. (sorry for derailing there a bit.)

I do agree, I know in some episodes in the original series you do see him without shoes and also you do see him bare chested. there was once scene I remember he had toe nails (which the animation showed only one nail, but you would've think he had all of them) so you would think that his skin was highly advanced by Von which gave Gadget to chance to feel 'fully" human.
I do want to add that there was one episode where he got cut on a lobster claw and it did show a red spot on his glove, so you would've think it was blood from broken skin. (or other fluids they added on into him )

How many times do we see him in old man shorts, tank tops and his one-piece swimsuits. If Von put that much work into making him look human, he's going to enjoy it. As for blood? Yeah old style Gadget probably still had it. Though depends the shelf life of his organic parts but that's for another post.

True that! sometimes I still wonder if he has to keep up with his artificial skin as same with his limbs and gadgets with all the wear and tear. (but I think it's just me over thinking it, lol!)

Another thing too that I forgot to add, (it just recently popped into my head earlier). Gadget is extremely ticklish enough so he can feel it while wearing layers of clothes, including his trench coat. (in the episodes "School for Pit Pockets" and "Capeman Cometh")
So I wonder if he has very sensitive nerve endings, unless the skin is a bit thinner than his original organic skin.

Possibly! He might have a lot of them surfaced or something. Tho a lot of the time ticklishness is attributed to how defensive someone is. It's a reaction to surprise and trying the defend yourself. He might just be sensitive in general. Hmmm.

I remember in that one scene of the episode "school for pick-pockets", Gadget seems to enjoy being tickled while the tickler/Mad agent took the watch from his pocket... (if it was me, I'll punch the person's daylights out. lol!)
yeah, he probity is more sensitive and liked being touched... even to enjoy being tickled by a complete stranger.

Like in Smelldarado when that coo touched his shoulder and he just stared at the spot a moment. Or that time a clown touched his hands. Gadget is a strang man. Love em.

I guess it depended on his mood.

I guess it depended on his mood. Maybe he is one of those guys that are really not into his hands or arms being touched. He always wears the gloves even to bed.
