This was something that came up to my head this morning. Sorry if this shouldn't be talked but I curiously was wondering what would happen if some of us would buy the copyrights of the series. I mean Disney did and made two movies, so I don't think it would be a problem if we did the same. For example, if I'd buy the copyrights I wouldn't mind doing a continuation of the series, by starting from what it used to be and then make something more serious (something a little like Steven Universe). The characters would still be the same. Gadget is still a clumsy inspector, Penny is still the smart one who solves the missions, Brain still protects Gadget, Claw is still the same monstrous man, etc. However I would like to make Gadget a little more human at probably on the middle of the series. As for the argument not only I would like to use my two fan fictions "Memories of an Inspector" and "Broken Heart" but I would also love to have other people joining to write other stories ideas for each episode, by probably calling out some of you guys and other fans out there to write them. For the art style/animation I want to keep the same design from the 80's series, and I would of course participate on animating some episodes (once I get more practice ). However I would like some other animators to join in, like some artists behind Steven Universe (Rebecca Sugar, Ambers Rogers, Jeff Liu and Lauren Zuke), and probably Hayo Miyazaki. The number of seasons would depend if it would be successful, otherwise my number idea is only 2 seasons. The first one starts with a continue of the 80's series and the second season moves to the part where Gadget is moved to work for W.O.M.P. and the Gadgetinis are born. Now about having ideas on creating a movie I would like to probably make a remake of the Disney ones but respecting the original series, making a proper Gadget backside story. As for payment, eeeeeeeeh... that could be quite difficult, since I'm not exactly a rich person like uncle Scrooge (lol ). What do you guys think? And what would be your own options if you'd buy the copyrights?

First off there's nothing wrong in the least with this subject. Also it sounds like you want to start a virtual series? *jumps for joy!* I used to be a prominent member of that section for the internet community. I welcome this idea in full and will do what I can to help if this is the case. Lastly, there is one character I have considered approaching DHX over copyright permission to write. The only IG character no one with good reason gives a rat's butt about, but I write differently to near unrecognizablity. ...But I doubt I could afford the cost. What can I say? I'm used to writing for comic books.

I'm going to be pretty blatant: story wise, it would be ReInitiated. I already imagine that as a tv series, so that's how it work out. I can't say much about story now, so all I'll comment is read and see.
As for animation, I would get the team who worked on The Batman or Jackie Chan Adventures, along with some of the illustrators who worked on The Spectacular Spider-Man. I'm a sucker for those early 2000's cartoons, especially in that faux anime style, so getting them onboard would be great.
As for voicing, I listed them elsewhere, so I won't double back on that.

Yes, I understand. I think the Batman style on the series would work out as long they're not too realistic and even so I said I would like the series a little bit serious I wouldn't want the animation to much dark. As for the other ones you mention I don't think the art style of them would work out for the series, not because they're not good but because the original series had a more cartoony and anime art style. I actually forgot to mention about the voice actors, and I would love Creesumer and Frank Welker to voice Penny and Claw again, otherwise I had to choose other voice actors who have their voices approachable to the original ones. As for Gadget I don't know if MauriceLa Marche has still his good voice approachable to Don Adams.

Jackie Chan Adventures had the same style as The Batman, and even share I believe the artistic director. As for Spider-Man, I meant having a blue-sky day atmosphere, as opposed to a dark nighttime one. As for voices, I agree one hundred percent on Frank Welker. However, as much as I like Cree Summers, I know her later work better than her older stuff, and her African-American accent would sound off coming out of a blonde's mouth. I would definitely give Cree Summers a role, but it would have to be a different character or Penny reimagined as a biracial or black girl. I would certainly go with Don Adams as Gadget. He was the best.

Not trying to sound rude, but I'd much prefer LaMarche over Sherry. Just sayin'.

If I had the rights I would do something very experimental and unlike the original. So it's pretty much guaranteed everyone would hate it.

If I had the rights, absolutely no CGI, I just don't think it fits. The original style is much more to my liking. I would show a backstory for Penny, but I'm not sure if I would make her Gadget's adopted or biological niece, which brings me to Penny. I would make her 14 (She was 11 in original series, 12 in Gadget and the Gadgetinis, 15 in Netflix series, 16 in Gadget's biggest caper ever) making her an age she already wasn't. If I do decide to make her adopted, I would most likely want her racebent. Either black or multiracial, I love to see more diversity in families and just casting in general on TV. I wouldn't give her a love interest, I think she's such a great female role model, (Talon annoys me anyway) if anybody's going to get a love interest, it's going to be Gadget himself, I feel he deserves it. She would either be Jeanette or Tyson Jones, from Ellis97's fanfictions. As for back stories, I would at least devote a two part episode explaining how Gadget exactly got his gadgets, not being a car crash (as explained in the '99 movie). Brain wouldn't be cut out like he was in Gadget and the Gadgetinis, and the Gadgetmobile wouldn't talk. I like the 2nd season house better, and I wouldn't have Captain Capeman in a single episode. Sorry if this was long, this is just what I would like

Sorry if this was long, this is just what I would like Honestly, I kind of compared notes when reading this, and I've got to say, I do approve. I agree on no way to the CG. It's way overrated nowadays. I make Penny 14 too, so at least I know someone else was thinking the same in that fashion. Reimagining her as black or biracial could also be incredibly interesting. Plot lines could be opened up where she has to defend her connection to her uncle or something like that, which could really open things up. YES! SOMEONE ELSE DISLIKES TALON/PENNY TOO!!!! Sorry, I was just starting to think I was the only one. I do include Talon in my series, but Penny cannot stand him and would barf if you suggested them dating. I will include Jeanette as well, but I can't mention all to much, as her role ties into something of a spoiler. The only thing I can add is that she is definitely into Gadget. That's all the connections I can see for now. All I can say is thumbs up and I am definately interested in seeing a fanfic.

My Penny would be around 8-10, I want her to be a kid because I think that's what makes the premise so humorous in the first place- that this little girl is so hyper-intelligent and brave enough to take on a terrorist organization.
I can't stand Talon/Penny either. Like I haven't even been able to watch the remainder of the season because it makes the show near intolerable to me.
No romance in my stories. Penny would be too young and my version of Gadget is an android, so yeah.

I'm with you guys on that too. You will not see Talon in my writing. But lets not let this subject go off track. The way we're talking .. ok, while all of us have our ideas, and this thought goes back to the round robin idea which isn't really the same thing. I wonder how a fan fic would come off if all of us contributed our two cents to it?

I also think one of the things that makes the '15 series worse is that Penny works with her Uncle. Gadget is aware that Penny is using her intelligence to help the organization, leaving Brain without much of a purpose since she wild investigate on her own and Brain would dress up in his disguises in the original series. I would just have her be a regular schoolgirl, to make her not seem suspicious.
