This is my very first post up here, so I figured I’d write a short discussion on my personal thoughts about the original soundtrack of Inspector Gadget. I’d like to acknowledge how excellent the soundtrack for the original Inspector Gadget series is. Not just the theme, but all of it; the scores for each character and the interlude parts. The soundtrack is full of life and character, something that a lot of television shows these days seem to lack. The musical scores float around in my head a lot, and always in a good way. Nothing quite like riding your bike down the street with Penny’s Theme playing in your head! The combination of orchestral and synth is excellent. A lot of effort was put into creating the music, and it shows. A favourite of mine is the unrealised theme song for MAD. It’s sad that this wasn’t actually used in the show, since it has a very catchy tune, just perfect for Doctor Claw and MADCat to have blaring as they race off in the MADMobile.

Welcome to the forum Unfortunately I can't agree with you at some parts I know most of you all love the Inspector Gadget theme song, but I can't help to say that somehow the song becomes quite annoying, not to mention that I feel that the way how the song is written and played, although it's referenced of the classical "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edward Grieg, it looks like it's more of a mock song to Gadget's personality. And, although I actually like "Calamity Gadget" and "Gadget and the Incas", the fact that his theme song plays in each episode with different variations over and over becomes tiring. I know this was done back in the 80's, but I personally think that the background music needs to be about the character all over the time. If you see some anime most of the songs that are played in the background are a representation of the activities and the ambient throughout the episodes, wich is something most ocidental cartoons misses. However I do love Penny's theme song and Dr. Claw's theme song (those are indeed kickass) and the variations that are played on the episodes wich unfortunately are just a few. But when it comes to Gadget's theme song I think that Fabian Del Priore (https://www.youtube.com/c/RaptureMusicOfficial/featured), who worked on the music for the Playsation game Inspector Gadget: Gadget's Crazy Maze, did a good work on the character's theme song. It has the same feel of Shuky Levi's composition but somehow that the song was composed doesn't feel annoying and a mock over Gadget's personality. If you haven't heared the soundtrack here's the link of the playlist: And the song I'm mentioning is this one:

Welcome more formally to the forum! ( Compared to my earlier shoutbox message. ) While a discussion about the music is fine and I can already see it's gotten additional feedback moving the thread into further talk. I hope you don't mind this but I have to move this thread into the Classic series section.

I do agree with you with the music, it's that type of music and tones that they used to make you remember and recognize them where they came from and what character they present... even out of nowhere when they come into you mind where you can't shut it off. lol! As for the MAD's theme which was named "Cat's Claw" in the IG soundtrack, it was used only once (or maybe twice) as very small clips in the 1st season. Sadly, I don't remember the episodes since it's been a while since I've binged watch IG, but I remember it was the few seconds in the middle of the song where they add on another track for the end of the scene. It's an awesome song and I always have it on my playlist, but I do wish they used it more in the original series.
