While I was working yesterday, I was thinking about how long did it take for Gadget to recover from his accident? I know that it was never really explained about how he got himself injured and how serious it was where they had to turn him into a cyborg; even though according to the book, it was a banana peel which I honestly think we all can agree it was something else more. So, what do you guys think how long did it take for him to go through the healing process, physically therapy, training, getting used to his Gadgets and also programing. I honestly think it must've took him about 2 or 3 years to go through all of that. I also wonder if Penny was present since she is so used to having malfunctioning gadgets fly all over the place... unless she came at the same time when Gadget was in the middle of his healing process. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? -Cracks neck- -Stretches- -Deep breath- OKAY!!! So I imagine his recovery was a whole a$$ process. Starting out, he had more human bits, guts and all that but over time his body tried to heal but keeps rejecting the new gadgets, ultimately damaging his remaining bits. Say if they removed even some of his digestive track, his immune system would start to tank. He would constantly be getting sick either with colds, food positioning, lack of nutrition or a million other things that can go wrong. I imagine over about 2 years, they remove a few more problematic organs or replicate them. Depending on the technology, they could create an artificial immune system for him. Similar to bacterial transplants or something. Either way, it won't be a fun process and even if he doesn't complain about it, something that might affect him the rest of his life or as long as he still had human flesh in there.

I do agree with you there since there might've done a lot with him, lots and lots of artificial implants! it must've him took him a very long period of time to eat solid foods and keep it down. he must've gone though a liquid diet for over a year and just have little by little in time until he was able to eat normally again. No wonder why he thinks about food all the time, lol! I've noticed that he gets sick a lot too. (3 episodes in a row) I would believe that might be the reason he gets sick because he might have an unstable immune system.

He says his tummy is full of springs and sprockets once I think. (In one of the books, idr.) so needless to say, combined with all the meds he might have to be on and his diet, his health is kind of fecked. XD

XD I agree, I remember in one of the trading cards that he had his systems all in his chest, so who knows what is below it. I do think that he does take a ton on medication just to keep everything stable... as for shots, we all know he is terrified of needles. Lol! They must've give him a lot of shots when he was healing.

That would explain the phobia of needles but not death and danger.
