I feel a little ashamed for not remembering this. All I know is I started watching it as a little kid in the likely late 80's just before the school bus would come in the morning.

Sheeee, I can't explain it exactly. I was so little on that time and my normality evolution was still on low levels on my autism. All that I know is that the series came to Portugal with the portuguese version at 1993 so on that time I was three years old. The series was also aired before with the french version translated with portuguese subtitles at 1990 but I was still a newborn baby. But all I can remember is that Gadget was the reason that made me wake up all mornings just to run to the living room, turning on the TV and waiting until the series was going to start. Another funny thing is that after the news two more episodes were on so I had to watch the news because of that XD Like the animated Disney movies Gadget was the first series and character that made me fall in love with the world of animation before Sailor Moon. I used to wonder myself how could a man had so many machinery on his body and how did he was born with them. Can't forget also that I had a love crush on the character that I got bullying because of that, having jerks kids around me singing the theme song over and over (that's why I started to hate the theme song so much, even that I still like it). I was also sad because in Portugal there aren't many people who remembers the series, only the "fucking" theme song, which made me feel uncomfortable because every time I wanted to participate on those conversations I was scared. But I don't give a shit anymore on that. After all I have DA, some of my friends who likes sometimes to talk about the series itself, and now this forum. Inspector Gadget is and will always be a part of my childhood!

Was watching tv when I saw the 2015 version come out. I immediately hated the theme song and After watching, decided it was a continuation to an original after seeing the fact that he was retired and they were calling him back . Found the original and immediately loved it to bits!!!! Kept trying to find other fans since that to no success till I found systemcats awesome fanfics on ff.net Loved those fics to pieces too... LOVED HER STORIES AND WRITING STYLE!!!! Decided to check her account to see if she wrote anything about new updates and stories and saw her mention this website. Found it, and i actually got to talk to SYSTEMCAT!!!! YEAH! THE END NOW IM HERE TTYL Inspector TARDIS

I could remember as far back is when i was around 2 years old when i started to watch the series on Nickelodeon in the late 80's. i have a vivid memory of it while sitting on the edge of the sofa bed just glued to the TV. i remember i just couldn't take my eye off Gadget, i was mostly hyped on what he can do, how he can move with his arms, legs and neck extended and that slapstick!... kinda funny, because that was always been the highlight of my memory from back then. no wonder why i'm a huge fan of slapstick! my mom was always was very strict on what we watched on TV and for some weird reason she never like us watching "little bits", "david the gnome" and anything that has a "fantasy" related cartoons that was on around that time.... but she let us watched Inspector Gadget! which even as an adult, sometimes i do cringe on some "violent" slapstick scenes, thinking i watched this as a kid? lol! Well, growing up, i didn't see that many episodes only because the only time i could watch IG was the summertime since we have have a summer home with cable TV and my "year round" home that only had antenna and a VCR for our entertainment. anyways, long story short, about 6 years later, we moved into our summer home and of course my parents got rid of cable a few months afterwords. so i didn't really watch TV that much around that time. But every time my grandparents watched my siblings and i, i would get caught on some IG episodes when it was on nickelodeon. this went on for quite a while till we finally got satellite tv around 1998 and i could catch a few episodes here and there depending on what time it would be on. Once when i REALLY got into it is when i saw the movie trailer in January of 1999 when i got to see the Rugrats movie. i was pretty interested, but i wanted to see as much episodes as i could before seeing the movie. i remember my twin sister and i got up every single morning to "somewhat binge" watch it when it came on at 6:30. (way before youtube kiddies! lol!) we were homeschooled, so we didn't have to be rushed to get on the bus, but it was nice having the TV to ourselves since we only had 1 tv in our house. but i must've saw about 82 episodes before it completely disappeared a few years afterwords, i never saw traces of it again on our networks here where i live, (and we didn't get the Gadgetinis ether).... but around early 2000's is when i started to do research the history of IG online, but mostly off and on for 16 years (plus life took over too), until this past winter, where i finally got to watch the last 4 episodes i've never seen and that nickelodeon hardly aired, and after that i picked on the research again. But I'll tell you one thing tho, it was Inspector Gadget that kept on coming back to me, even as an adult! something about that cartoon that really pulls on my heart-strings... sorry for the very long post, but it seems like i was always passionate about it.

Don't say you are sorry for the long post. I think that is quite a story and frankly as the Admin. I feel embarrassed I can't say as much history with enjoying the fandom. I tip my hat to you madam.

Saw it on the Family channel in the eaaaarrrly 90s. It would come on either before or after Archie I think. I loved it then and love it now! Every couple of years it pops back in my heart.

First saw it back in 83, I was about five years old. I always had a habit of sitting on the floor, and staring up at the tv. I guess you could say I was a 'floor potato', more then a 'couch potato'! Anyway, I remember hearing the music and seeing the police siren, when it first came on. Then I saw Gadget for the first time and my eyes got really huge. I thought he looked really cool, cause I always liked that secret agent stuff. Then I saw the part where he jumped out the window and helicopter blades came out of his hat! My mouth immediately dropped open as I pointed at the tv screen. I even remember having a hard time speaking properly when I saw it, saying something along the lines of; "Did you 'see' that??!!...He just-" I never finished what I was trying to say, because right at that moment is when I saw the Gadget Van transform into Gadgetmobile!....annnnd….I was done! That's all it took, as my mother came into the living room and told me to stop screaming like a deranged lunatic! As I was hopping up and down like if I had hot coals in my ass! Yeah, I became a fan to say the least! It became my favorite childhood show! And Gadget was my very first hero! All these years later, he still has a very special place within my heart. And I don't see him being 'dethroned' anytime soon!

just out of my curiosity, do you remember what channel it was aired in your area? Oh hell, I can't remember! Too long ago for me Butterfly, sorry my dear! I due however remember watching it along with Thundercats, He-Man and She-Ra! They were like my four favorite cartoon shows! He-Man and She-Ra, came on back to back, I can't recall if they were on the same channel as Gadget. I think they were different channels, but I could be wrong. Either way, I due remember getting really upset, if I ever missed Gadget! I could miss my other shows, but if I missed Gadget...I got pissed! More like cried!
