This was something that came up to my head while watching the episodes.
We all know that the Gadget series is based on Inspector Clouseau from Pink Panther, the Mission Impossible movies and, the funny one, Get Smart where Don Adams acts the main character Max.
But here's my question: is Gadget also based on the Lewis Carol's story of Alice in Wonderland?
I mean, let's check the characters and the episodes for a minute (note that some references I will make are based not only from the book but also from the Disney movie):
In the episodes there are scenes where Gadget is on kind of all troubles, like the scene where Gadget enters on a farm house and gets with ships over him where the background of the scene is a living room with an chimney fire place, a window next to it and (this one is not exactly the most important) an wall pattern of pink lines from "Down of the Farm", where he gets kind of lost on all kinds of places from almost all episodes, where he enters in caves that leads somewhere (in this case a MAD base) from "Sleeping Gas" and "The Great Divide", where he goes check out the giant plants that are assassins from "Greenfinger", where he gets stuck up on a tree with a nest of little birds on his head while trying to follow an ostrich from "Clear Case", where he (this one is my favorite XD) tries to give to the blue jays a bird house but instead he's the one who gets stuck on it from "Birds of a Feather", where he (this is also my favorite too) gets shrunk by a laser gun from "The Incredible Shrinking Gadget", where he gets large on Mad Cat vision after getting with a gas even that he was a doll and the scene where he sees mushrooms everywhere after getting with the same gas from "N.S.F Gadget" and lets not forget the fact that he's always after Brain everywhere in all episodes (by far these are the scenes that I can remember). Theres even a scene where is disguised as a white rabbit from "Magic Gadget".
As for the characters heres the funny replicas: Gadget is just like Alice, always curious about everything, always wondering around and meeting new people even they're not the right ones, and he's meeting up with MAD people XD; Penny has also some Alice references (blond hair and green/blue eyes especially XD) but she's more like her older sister, always caring for her uncle and also likes reading; Brain is no doubt the White Rabbit, always been with Gadget after him; Capeman might be the Mad Hater, after all he's an idiot ; Chief Quimby might be or the March Hare or the Door Mouse or the Caterpillar, but I'm not quite sure *shrugs*; MAD Cat is no doubt the Cheshire Cat, always with that big smile on his face; the MAD agents might be the characters that Alice meets up in Wonderland, or the cards; Dr. Claw has to be the Queen of Heart, why, because he wants to eliminate Gadget XD And even if they are not from the classic series don't forget Digit and Fidget who mostly are Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum.
This is by far what I can think of, but still, are Gadget and Alice related? Were the creators inspired by the book/movie while creating the series?
Who knows What are your thoughts?
In case you find out more scenes that matches with Alice in Wonderland asides of the ones that I caught don't be shy to share them. It can also be the pictures of that scene
*Because of this I decided to do an fan comic of Gadget in Wonderland*
