In the show Inspector Gadget uses a laser that can cut through things, Penny has one in her watch, and a far more powerful version of it coming from her computer book (possibly from the top of the spine). The episode "The Ruby" focuses on a powerful laser as well. Adsuko also uses one in the Japanese Connection as well. However, what kind of laser could do that? Could it be focused plasma instead? This is what I thought until I discovered that there’s a certain kind of laser called a wave jet guided laser that can cut really fast and uses superheated gas and cooling liquid in order to accomplish this task. In the current revised movie outline, should I go with the classic laser or keep my current plasma technology for the sake of realism and added coolness? Although once I did see that confuse one of my readers in half thinking the story was future set.
