How do you think they came up with those self-destructing messages? And how do you think they get the timing just right?

Well I think it takes it's origin inspiration from another show: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission:_ImpossibleAs for timing? .. I think the show writers always meant for the mission papers to blow up with Chief Quimby.

I could just see how that explanation would go: Quimby's boss: ...and when he's done with it, he gives it to you and it explodes. Quimby: I don't think that's a great idea. Boss: nonsense! It's a wonderful idea! Quimby:

Didn't they also do that in Get Smart too? An agent would pop out of a random object to give Max the message and after he read it, he would give it back and it would explode?
