What this is, is a short story which is meant to be pretty much on top of the start to Devil's Blood. I debated for a while if this would be tagged into the end of Iron and Steel, which I'll note flat out is still quite a ways from being finished. But it didn't feel quite right to do that. This story provides explanation to how Jake shows up in the story and acts as a light spoiler to what MAD is up to without giving many / fine details, just enough to tease at the coming story. This story is going to be posted as an animatic. Currently the debate is do I color it's illustrations since none of the animatics I've done before have been in color or for that matter had nice artwork. I posted about wanting voice work done on Voice123 and Casting Call Club. Voice123 I got forced to remove the posting since I messed up how I presented the job offer, basically put by wording mistake, I shot myself in the foot. Casting Call people tried out ..eh ... they didn't do jobs on voicing I was pleased with to put that mildly. But I did talk about this in the ComicFury forum and apparently discovered it has a voice acting community, well a circle of buddies from best I can tell, who do voice work off & on. Agent Heather has been cast at this point. Author of web comic "Awkward Paws" Taily, tried out for the part and I think she did a good job. All that's left to that part is having the audio file broken into pieces so I can work easily on this project. She knows the CF member who has voiced an interest in the two other roles this story has, and has said she'll try to prompt him over this. This is Awkward Paws for anyone who is interested in reading it. If Taily wants when the animatic has been made I'll be giving it another link with of course crediting her for her voice work: awkwardpaws.thecomicseries.com/

Welcome . I just finished breaking apart the file into it's individual lines to get 12 of them. Now it's just a wait and see of who steps up to bat for the other roles and does a good job of them.

I got the recorded lines for the character of G late last night and just got around to formally listening to them a moment ago. This character is voiced by another member of the CF community. MistakeNPotatoes, while doing G has also claimed an interest in doing it for Jake as well, so lets hope ! He too has a web comic over there and it's name is, "Those Unknowable: The Shadows Over Innsmouth": tsoi.thecomicseries.com/He seems open for feedback in case changes are wanted. I'm only going to ask for a single line of voicing changed just because of mistake in wording. Other than that I think he did a great job!

I just got this yesterday and listened to it tonight to find out if it sounded ok. MistakeNPotatoes, turned in the second role he voiced for this. I think him and Taily are both very talented. I hope you guys enjoy the animatic when it's finished being worked on & posted. Right now I'm about to start on it's art.

... Could someone tell me if at least I did an ok job on it? I haven't even heard back yet from the two people that acted for it. I know Copter tried to view it but that's it for if anyone noticed it. .. least to my knowledge. .. I know the art isn't my best. On ComicFury I admitted that straight out since people there aren't used to seeing what I can do.

Just found it on YouTube. I thought the technicals looked good. The voice actors did pretty well, and I thought that the art looked good.

I'm not sure what you mean by technicals. I'm in agreement with you on the voice acting, I truly feel lucky about getting those guys to preform. Who knew a web comics forum would be a good place to find talent of that sort? MistakeNPotatoes decided to audition for doing the work by linking me to online examples where it comes up. Off the bat I felt he'd be good for Jake but I heard him voice G's lines first, so it was good to hear him do contrasting voices. Taily I heard nothing until she turned in her work of voicing Heather. For having no background that I know of, that's impressive in my book. Hearing her voice Heather's rant to G, actually made me laugh the first time I heard it. I am shocked you were ok with the art. If I was doing formal drawing it would have looked a lot different. For starters on that, Jake's hair would have at least been dark. Little heads up on the GB side of the AU. I'm considering writing one last short prior to the large story which will have both sides formally crossing paths. It would be set sometime into the GB team acting as a team with it well established they're used to butting heads with RAGE. I have no more details to it right now.

When I said technicals, I meant the art and voice acting. The art really does look good. Honestly, I have to tell Wolf (my partner who is starting the Kirby comic) this as well. You're the artist. As a result, whatever you make will look a lot worse to you than to your audience. The art looked great. A bit rough, but considering that it was an animatic and not an animation, that is to be expected. It looks fine. Also, Wolf was hoping to have their comic hosted by Comic Fury, and has been reading forums there. Any tips? The final side comic sounds like a good idea. I'll be keeping my eyes open.

I think ComicFury is a good host, lots better than Comic Genesis, the hosting service I used with Light Bulbs years ago. The coding is relatively simple and you can stash months worth of comic pages into waiting to be published when you want them up to the second in timing. Meaning this is something I see every time I upload: I think attempting to promote one's own comic there is useless unless you want to spam it weekly in the Shameless Advertisement section of the forum. That section in my opinion is just people jumping over one another to try and pull attention from the last person's comic to theirs. With LB I did try the bit of once every few weeks to guideline, trying to draw people's attention to it, didn't work. One time I advertised for IS there and even made a custom image to try and help the matter to give people a feel for it, no one cared. The easiest way to get actual attention brought to a comic is using the forum in normal posting without talking about it. People wonder which comic the creator represents. But be warned: some people there are major trolls. That had me lay off using their forum for years because I voiced my opinion about a matter and got bashed to hell. I've also seen them attack others just as easily. I wasn't thinking a comic on whatever story the third GB short happens to be. The prose shorts I believe keep me in practice for writing the format. Likely proof of that could be called how B-Side was a few thousand words longer than Silver Light after the long gap from that and Forge of Hate.
