For the cartoon time line I think penny must of got brain before moving in with her uncle or maybe they got brain sometime after penny moved in with her uncle.

I like a fan fic explanation I read once. That he was given to Gadget as a service dog after he became a cyborg, and in turn gave the dog as a present to Penny. That Brain is a special smart breed, why he's used as a service animal.

I always thought of Brain as some type of test experiment like Ein from Cowboy Bebop thus him becoming super intelligent for a dog.
I really like that service dog idea as well, makes a lot of sense.

I just when into her gallery to check if the author was her, but from a different pen name than where I read the story. No, it's not her work. Here's the story I was referring to: archiveofourown.org/works/450755

Here's the story I was referring to: archiveofourown.org/works/450755I clicked on the link and read the story and for some reason, for what I read it, it's the same story that InspectorGadgetGirl putted on her DA gallery (http://inspectorgadgetgirl.deviantart.com/art/Penny-and-Uncle-Gadget-part-1-467762959). The only thing she did was giving names to Penny's father and Gadget (before his accident and based on Max from Get Smart), she didn't write the "now" parts and she changed a little of the text. She divided the entire story into 5 parts. But I'm not sure which one is the original. I read InspectorGadgetGirl before this one and gave her a comment that the story is fantastic (it's by far my favorite fandom that I ever read about the series) but I can't complain which one is the original. And in case she copied it, even that she has changed some stuff, I wouldn't feel okay giving the credits to her, because that is wrong. Sorry if this is a little off topic but I'm so pissed off about this now! I just don't feel okay giving the credits to a person when in reality the work putted there doesn't belong to it!

I hope one day this mystery is solved. Terribly hope so I'm just a little scared to ask InspectorGadgetGirl if she's the one who get the text and then changed some stuff 'cause even I don't know her personally and even were not exactly best friends I don't want to end up our friend relationship.

All that can be done here is talking to "both" authors on the different sites to find out the truth. (...Hee hee real investigation work.)

Ahaha, were now the inspectors XD But yeah, that's a better way to solve this once and for all. I truly hate when people uses the works from other ones and then say that that's belong to them, and I'm saying this because I'm an artist.

I know I would hate it if anyone were to ever steal my stories. Also sounds like a plan to get to the bottom of this mystery.

Indeed, who wouldn't hate if someone steals the original arts from the original artists. By far I haven't been stoled (but I'm not sure either) but a lot of artists that I know (I have a colleague friend who has that problem sometimes) has been. I mean, if the person wants to share our artwork that's fine as long they ask for permission and, most important, credit the original artist, but when it comes for stealing for getting attention and/or being paid for that's just so wrong!

By the way, sorry if this conversation has started to be off topic, but even so this is SERIOUS!

No worries, because I do agree with you.
If you want I could make a topic about this in the general section.
