Alright, I don't have a place for this in ReInitiated itself, but I wanted to tell this all the same.
I came up for a background for the ReInitiated version of Gadgetorum, who in this AU has the name Felix. He recieved that name as both a descriptor and an irony (as he had his descendant's form of strange luck).
He lived as a slave in pre-Christian times, owned by the nobleman Gaius Antonius Nerva. During his youth, Rome went to war, and Felix's master brought his slave with him onto the field for what was supposed to be an easy victory. Instead, the battle turned bad, and had it continued as it was going, it would have been the end of Rome before the rise of the empire. However, during the battle, Felix saw his master injured and about to be killed by an enemy elephant and rushed to intervene armed with a long spear. He was able to save his master's life, but ended up doing even more than that. Not only was he able to send the elephant away from his master, but the injured brute turned back and panicked the other elephants, who began tearing up their owner's side. In the end, somehow the elephant damage worked only in Rome's favor, and the whole ordeal ended with the head of the enemy not only crushed by his own warbeast but also struck by lightning.
After that display, the Romans who viewed it decided that Felix must be the son of a god to achieve such a strange, unexpected victory, and he was freed. Given the name Gaius Antonius Felix, he was able to marry a young woman (also a freed slave) and worked as a civil servant. A lot of the nobility weren't too fond of him (due to the fact that he was none too bright), but a lot of his decisions turned out to do a lot of good, and none of the attempt to harm him worked. Thus, he was able to live out his life in relative peace.
Just a story I wanted to mention. Since time travel will not be a part of ReInitiated, there's no way to slide this into the story. However, since Gadget's ancestors have been mentioned in canon, this little plot bunny came to me, and I thought I'd post it here.
