This was something that came up to me while reading some of the forum's topics. Since everyone here might be from another country asides England and/or America, like me, it's normal that the majority saw the Gadget series with other different languages asides of the (second) original one. I'm going to share the portuguese and french versions of the series because of this: Portuguese version: Since I was born in Portugal it was normal that I watched the series on that version. The portuguese voice actors, even they didn't give a lot of emotions on the first few episodes, are actually good and I think each voice fits on the character itself. Carlos Macedo (the voice of Gadget), Alexandra Sedas (Penny), Rui de Sá (Chief Quimby and Dr. Claw) and Peter Michael (Capeman) were the actors behind the portuguese version. The series was on in 1993 on SiC and later they repeated again in 2009 or 2010 on Canal Panda and 2013 or 2014 on SiC K (if I'm not wrong). French version: When I was starting to buy a french magazine called "Animaland", a magazine related to the japanese culture and french series, there were some pages about some stores in France who sell stuff of that area, and by looking at some images I came across to an image of a DVD cover of the Gadget serie. I then went to the website of that store and they actually had a DVD box with 5 dvds. Because I haven't watched the series since 1993 I thought that if I asked someone who would go to France and buy the DVD box in my place it would be a good way for me to learn the french language and, of course, remembering my childhood. Since then the french language is also my favorite language! What about you? What are the other versions that you know? Share them

As a kid, I watched the cartoon in my language: Italian. Growing up, and many years after I had watched the series on tv, I decided to buy the English dvd. I was surprised to find out that Don Adams doesn't really do such a good job at voicing Gadget. I always get the impression he's just reading the lines for the money, nothing more than a job. While the Italian voiceactor Giorgio Melazzi sounds like he's enjoying what he does, to the point he sometimes put his own spin on some lines! Furthermore, Don Adams sounds like a cartoon character (I then discovered that's actually how his normal voice sounds like), wherein Giorgio Melazzi has a comedical tone but still sounds like a person.
Here is Giorgio Melazzi, the Italian voice of Gadget. He is actually a tv comedian, and apparently he is some kind of vampire because this video is very recent yet he doesn't seem so old:
Interesting fact: the first Italian dub featured the French names for the characters, and had a different cast. That original Italian dub is extremely rare to find, and even I don't remember it at all. What I'd give to listen to it again!
The second Italian dub is the one with Giorgio Melazzi (for me, he IS the voice of Gadget), and, interestingly enough, it featured Elisabetta Spinelli as the voice of Penny. Elisabetta Spinelli would then become very famous amoung anime nerds in Italy, after she became the voice of Sailor Moon, a few years later!
Here is a sample of the Italian dubs:
Another very interesting thing is the soundtrack. The first Italian dub had its own version of the intro music, with Italian lyrics!
But it soon was replaced by an entirely new song invented by the Italian localization!

What about you? What are the other versions that you know? Share them There is one example I could think to share here in link since I don't think the site allows for embedding. But there are a couple problems with this matter. One, the episode is in a language other than English, but flat out it's not stated which language. Two, this episode is on a cartoon viewing site I don't want to see get in trouble. So I'm not sure what to do here. ...Also I almost assume it's Spanish, but that's only because I encounter that language everywhere where I am.

Not in a wrong way, it just that for me it doesn't fit to the character, it seems that they did Gadget sounds to old (and a little agressive) in my opinion, just like the french and spanish versions. When it comes to Don Adams, yeah, when I heard the original version for the first time I felt the same way too. However, after watching the series "Get Smart" I actually started to like the actor. About the intro songs I actually knew the Cristina d'Avena version from the soundtrack of the series. Kinda funny because when the song begins it sounds similar to the Pink Panther theme song.

This is the same dub version I'm sure as what I found on the cartoon viewing site, just a different recording since it doesn't have the "Jetix" branding on the screen. Again not really sure what language this is.

Again not really sure what language this is. I know this version! It's the new spanish version. I actually caught it up when I was spending my summer vacations in Spain a long time ago. They used the translation based on the french version, that's why Penny, Brain, Quimby and Claw have different names. There's also another spanish/latino version but more older.

Yep, Gadget sounds older and more aggressive in the Italian dubs. It's exactly why I like it more. He actually sounds like a middleaged inspector, instead than some naive cartoon character. The reference to the Pink Panther song might have been intentional...

The only version of the show I know is the French one...
It's surprising to see that the French intro has lots of lyrics comparing to the English one, considering the two versions were made at around the same time.
Another difference is the season 2 opening which is different in French version, while in the English show they kept the season 1 opening, in the French show they replaced the original intro sequence with images from different episodes.

I actually knew about the french version from a french magazine called "Animeland". I saw an article of a store that was selling the first DVD boxset so I decided to buy it, and when I got it not only was I excited to see the series again and learn french decently but also got amazed how they've putted more efforts on that version.
