A few nights ago while on Youtube, I came across into something very interesting. I found an on going documentary series called "Nick Knacks" which is history about Nickelodeon.
As a media/cartoon history junkie myself (and also a 90's Nickelodeon kid), I was so excited to see something like this because for years I always wondered what was being shown on that channel from the beginning. it seems like the person who is making them are going though each show on Nickelodeon's list. I'm crossing my fingers if he is going to have an episode (or episodes) in the future about the syndicated cartoons before nicktoons. (since IG was one of them.)
If you guys are interested, here is the Introduction video and the link to his playlist. he has about 40 episodes and counting!

Thanks for bring this to attention. When it comes to TV during my first ten years ( roughly the whole 80's ) I grew up on Nickelodeon when it comes to being a tater tot on the home's couch. There is a major gap on viewing the channel during most of the 90's for lack of cable. But with warm feelings towards it's programming of back in the day, I'm looking forward to this YouTube series. Also something I want to say fast just because I don't want it assumed my fond thoughts might be strictly to my little kid years. I still watch their later and more current stuff from time to time without griping it's meant for today's kids. I know it may be aimed at a younger demographic but I don't care. ... You'd think now I'd own more than just Avatar & Korra series after having said this.

I'm more interested in on behind the scenes on the relationships between companies and how they got their hands on their programing, and also where they recorded some of their shows and the story behind them. it blew my mind when I found out that Double Dare was filmed on their first season in Philadelphia in P.B.S. (WHYY) studio until they moved to Orlando Florida. I've heard a rumor about that years ago and it turned out to be true.
I stopped watching Nickelodeon around the early 2000's, at that time I didn't watch a whole lot of tv throughout my teen years, I was mainly hanging out in the streets with friends or working. however, I mostly would watch tv around late afternoon to prime time when ever I get the chance. it'll mainly be toonami, local channels or adult swim until my parents got rid of satellite for good around 2005. so half of the programing on Nickelodeon around that time I'm not familiar with. but I've heard Avatar was pretty good though.

Please don't take it that I didn't do much of anything else during that time period I pointed out. I did plenty of other things than watch TV, I just remember when I did it was normally Nick. I'd suggest giving the series a watch. I'm not sure how to sum up my thoughts on it since I don't know what you've heard already.

I've watched all 41 of the episodes, some of it I do remember leaning about from other resources, but he mainly gets more into detail. including how we got Mtv and A&E.
