This hit me after browsing the faves gallery of the GoGoGadget Club's latest member.
Like many others sadly, this new member to join has fetish fixations on cartoon women. What just hit me is I wonder if this problem among the perverted fans is why normal healthy minded fans can't talk to those who brought us this franchise?
Before giving up on the matter which was over a year of trying before that happened. I tried to politely in email contact DHX Media to ask formal permission to print & give-away comic book copies of my IG work. Looking back on my wording with this, I think the one or ones reviewing the incoming emails, might have thought me calling my work PG-13 meant being nasty with their characters.
This question of the former staff's perception of fans is something I'd also like to formally ask about.
Guys, from you I'd like to know who worked on one or more canon Inspector Gadget series. Would you like to see me reach out to for an interview? That and besides what they think of us, any other questions to ask.

That's very cool that you tried to reach out to DHX about your comic. what was their response about giving away your work? (I've talked to other comic artist and they tried to do the same, but not much luck.)
that will be very interesting to try and reach out from the staff that worked on the franchise.... last week, I was honored to give away a copy of the translated IG Artbook to one of the story board artist that freelanced the original series of the 2nd season and the christmas special.

No reply by email but the person who answered the phone was nice about everything even if she didn't have the power to grant permission. ( I once contacted the legal department that way. ) She said she'd pass on to the right people there had been an query email months back which had not been replied to. I will try to reach out to who you guys want to have me interview.

that'll be awesome that you can do a review... makes me wonder if the person I've spoken to still has ties with other co-workers when he freelanced with DiC. I wish I asked on our conversation on facebook.

If I'm remembering right my attempt to ask legal permission started some time around April '16 and ended around Jan. of '18. I'll even show the letter given to the company. Yes, calling was my first attempt but I did not know the right number when this started: "I work on a fan fiction based web comic that DHX Media holds the copyright to. What I do is strictly non-profit and only done for the fun of it. I have no intention of making any money from my work. But I would like to make a few printings that will be given away freely. What I present in no way harms the image of the company, my work only goes so far as to say “PG-13” at the max for presentation. The comic books would even be labeled “Free” on their covers. This would be a small limited run. The web comic in question by Ka-Blam Printing, is “Iron and Steel”. The comic is an alternate universe take on the Inspector Gadget fandom in general. Ka-Blam Printing has said they will allow printing if you the copyright holder allows it in print proof presented to them. Please reply to this email. I attempted to call, but I got a message from different call lines that the phone system wasn’t working. Again no money is being made from this and I would personally be paying for printing, not someone else. Erin Weinstock" ----------- I'd like to do an interview. Actually getting that to happen will depend on how well I can find a right email contact to who is wanted for the interview. ... I've dug up some real oddball pieces of information in info hunts for trivia research. .. I feel somewhat confident I can do this.
