Here's a list of all the different released versions of the original show soundtrack I know/own, if you know another one, please tell me!
Inspecteur Gadget : Bande Originale de la Série TV
("Inspector Gadget : Original Soundtrack of the TV show")
Most Gadget fans know this version, this vinyl disc was released by FR3 (now known as France 3, the third French channel which was one of the production companies of the show among DIC, Nelvana and Field Communications) in 1983, it's labeled Saban Records (the company in charge of the soundtrack of the show).
It features 22 tracks (9 on A-Side and 13 on B-Side)
It was re-released on CD in 2012, but this version only has 12 tracks, in case you're wondering, Télé 80 is a French community that releases TV shows' OST from 1975-1990.
It was re-re-released in 2013 for the anniversary of the show, with 30 tracks this time! (like the two previous versions it features some themes that don't appear in the show among which 2 french songs called Sophie's song and Fino's song) it's an edition limited to 500 copies, but you can still easily find them on internet, I bought this CD version just one month ago.
You can find the vinyl version for 5€ and the CD versions for 10€ each on internet (but if you live far away from France it'll surely be more expensive)
Inspecteur Gadget : Bande Originale du Film et de la Série Télévisée
("Inspector Gadget : Original Soundtrack of the Movie and Television show")
Here's another vinyl version, like the first one, it was released by FR3, and it's also labeled Saban Records, it took me a while to find the right informations about this version on internet, but a quick look at the back of the jacket was enough to know that it was published in 1987 (and not in 1983 like a lot of sites tend to say, not to mention that the FR3 logo on this version was created in 1986 while the 1983 version uses an older logo)
You can find this version for 6€ in France but it only features two songs! (the extended French theme of the show, sung by Jacques Cardona and written by Haim Saban, this theme is also present in all the previous versions, the second song is Fino's song)
btw, don't even ask me why it is called tv show AND MOVIE ost because I have no idea what movie they're talking about
Inspector Gadget : The Music
(I guess there's no need to translate^^)
Ah! Here's a non-French version, finally! x)
This version has a terrible cover, but don't be too quick to judge! It's labeled ABC Records (The Australian Broadcasting Corporation Records, NOT to be confused with American Broadcasting Company!!) and it was released in 1986 in Australia, it features 15 tracks (5 on A-Side and 10 on B-Side), I must precise that 8 of them were not present in the 2 first French versions of the OST, I have no idea what the original records were doing in Australia but whatever...
Oh and guess what...
Télé 80 re-released this version too! it was released for the 30th anniversary since 8 tracks in the Australian version were missing in the original 1983 French release and its re-release. In fact the third French version I mentioned (which was also released for the 30th anniversary...), is in fact, a compilation of the 22 tracks of the first 1983 French OST and the 8 Australian tracks from the 1986 OST that were'nt in the French 1983 OST!
I hope that was clear XD
