This won't turn into a fanfic, but I wanted to talk about it none the less.
Jhohn Gadget and his niece Pekni (the k is like in knight) are Borrowers. They live in a small house that has been recently abandoned, leaving it empty but with plenty to be borrowed. Brain is a stray Pekni befriended who comes in every now and then. Claw is a Bean who lives nearby who has come to have an obsession with Borrowers.
That's been knocking around in my head for a while.

That's an oddball idea that I'd like to hear more of to better say my thoughts on it.

Honestly, it's an idea that came into my mind while listening to Arrietty's Song, from The Secret World of Arrietty. I was wondering what Gadget would be like scavenger punk style. He's still a cyborg, but unread of having larger human tech, he'd have some borrowed objects, like matches and toothpicks.
Penny Dollar (or Pekni Dollar-Box in this universe, borrowers don't use human names) is also a borrower, but has a fascination with Bean items. She's practically Macguyver when she can get her hands on borrowed items, though she doesn't trust Beans due to the fact that one murdered her parents and mutilated her uncle.
Claw was the one who captured Gadget and injured him. Gadget was eventually recused by Pekni's parents, though Claw later murdered them in an attempt to capture more Borrowers. Now put back together, Gadget and Pekni both work to provide for their clan, and work to keep Claw from finding them.

To a degree I can picture this crossover and heck have actually thought of an idea bringing Mad Cat into it and not in an expected way using a house cat in the same scene as people as small as borrowers. The only thing preventing an illustration here is frankly I'm stumped over Gadget's appearance in this.

I think he'd be less robotic than normal. He'd have limbs that otherwise look like steampunk robot limbs, but is pretty organic other than that. I imagine he'd have spent some time as a simple invalid, and the Borrower inventors came up with the idea for his prosthetics over his frustration at having to be taken care of.
MADcat would be an interesting edition, though his danger level would be midigated by the fact that Brain is still his normal size.

This was meant to essentially be a sketch or something simple, but I got carried away. Yeah, I know it doesn't have a steampunk vibe to it.
