This doesn't happen often but once in a while I get rather off imagery in my head for how I think something is coming across. In this case when Heather is sneaking around, I could easily picture her in a third person view video game doing this. Along with what I said on FF.net, poor William in addition of no one taking him seriously. Now explanation comes out why Brain is different beyond the fact he was captive of MAD early in this AU. Also to the note of Brain. I swear after I've finished page 111, I'm going to sketch him and post it up. Just the wealth of anthros I've been drawing in concepts for a TMNT comic has me in the mindset of must show what something would look like. Yeah, I guess the way that scene was written was similar to a video game. The response William got plays off the fear of being dismissed because you are young. Maybe it's playing up the Not now kiddo too much, but it does explain a lot. And, yes, we now know that Brain is a Chimera. There's actually a bit more to his genes, but you'd need a DNA examination to know the last bit. We'll hear about that later. I am interested in seeing your pic! I got carried away making this sketch. Those concept pieces not shown on DA are practice using ArtRage on my Surface. Again this was practice and the first piece in this version of the software done entirely by pencil.

Brain doesn't move quite as fluidly as he did in the Classic series, but he can move rather fast when he wants to. Add it to the fact that he's about as tall as Gadget when standing on his hind legs, that dog can be really intimidating when he wants to be.

Thanks guys! I'm still getting used to the software, maybe soon you might start seeing results of it on DA.

Just read it and left a review. I had a feeling that's what happened to Penny! I know Gadget's normally the mild tempered one but, I think an 'eye for an eye', is in order here! Bastards hurt his little girl!

I can't say anything here, but what I can mention is to keep in mind what I had mentioned earlier about Gadget (as well as what trouble an officer can get into for too much violence, regardless of how much the jerk deserves it.) That said, Gadget isn't the only person Freymore's ticked off...

I guess I'm just looking at this as more of a parents perspective, then an occupation standpoint. I know Gadget doesn't have that luxury, but as a parent it has to weigh heavy. I for one would go absolutely crazy, if someone ever hurt any of my kids! Especially to that degree!

Penny's pretty good at adapting to make sure she's still active in her life. To her, sure it's painful and devistating, but it's a hazard of the job, and not one that's impossible to get over. For Gadget, it's a sign of a failure both to his niece and to his sister (as he still feels somewhat guilty for her death as well.)

I wonder, after what happened, will he question his own abilities? As a guardian as well as an officer? Doubts I'm sure are going to surface. And your right! Penny does seem to be more resilient, and wouldn't let even something like this hold her back! Always searching for that silver lining, during the bleakest of moments.

Bummer, that I thought Heather and Brain were saving her from her bad guy planned fate, only to be recaptured :-(. I so want to read Gadget & WOMP kick their butts for what they've done and what they're currently doing.

To answer your FF question here, I actually have an explanation. What Freymore is doing is cruel, but does have some basis. The sheer amount of information he wants to steal could really only be routed through a system capable of handling huge amounts of information at a breakneck pace without burning out immediately. He had tried regular computers, and they almost worked in episode one. After that failed, admittedly due to Gadget and Penny's intervention, the closest thing he could come up with was the human central nervous system. Now, it hurts like all else for the unfortunate person used (i.e. Penny), but she is taking in and using the information a lot faster and with (relatively) less damage than a regular computer would. As a benefit, while using DElPHI, the human portion of her brain allows the computer to adapt to any system, meaning she's now capable of slipping around just about any online defense system, making her even more useful than the hacking system. I'm not sure how scientifically accurate this is, but hey, it's fiction.

You said about having a lack of familiarity with TOS but you've watched the film reboot. How familiar are you with ENT? What you wrote about what Freymore has done with Penny made me again think of Star Trek but specifically an episode of Enterprise named Dead Stop: memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Stop_(episode)Don't worry on comparison. I realized months after creating a plot aspect in Iron and Steel if some one wanted a quick explanation to a mystery, all they had to do was think of a plot aspect of an animated movie which came out a few years ago. ( I didn't like the film & it did not influence Iron and Steel, but the ideas are comparable sadly. )

Thus, I have never watched, or even read about, Star Treck Enterprise. It is rather freaky how similar in concept that plot is to what I have. If you don't mind me asking, what animated movie was it?

I'd rather not say. If you've seen the film or plan to watch it. Well if you thought of part of it's plot and tried to layer that idea on to Iron and Steel, that would act like a spoiler because you'd figure out a mystery easily.
