Im not sure if this is becouse Im a Guy or not but for some reason Penny always drove me nuts. Every time she was on screen I was like come on go back to Gadget! To me she seemed snoty to me. I will say I do like Penny in Gadget & the Gadgetinis & Inspector Gadget (2015) The only other person I know who felt the same way is my Friend Brandi. Even thou Penny Realy didnt have a big part in IG (1999) I do like how she was pertrade in it. I dont realy remmber how she was in IG2. I need to wacth it again. Am I Mostly the only one here who feels like this about Penny?

Well, she's a child and smart character so it was normal for her not be around with Gadget, otherwise he would be pissed if he founded out she was spying over M.A.D. with only 10-12 years old. But, most of the time, I always wished she was caught by her uncle when she was too distracted with her investigation and didn't noticed Gadget was at the same spot as she. That would have made the series way more interesting instead on watching the same formula over and over again. I mean, ok, this is a comedy animated series, but couldn't DiC do it a little more darker for what it is?
I personally don't like how she turned in the Gadgetinis and 2015 series. She didn't seem herself. In the Gadgetinis she turned into an authoritary person and she mostly seemed like she was teasing with her uncle every time she was saying to him that she was going to do something else, just so he wouldn't find out she was actually spying M.A.D., and in the 2015 she just became worst, by turning into a annoying teenager. I also don't like the fact that she's now working with Gadget because for what I feel that screwed with the plot for what the series was before.

While I don't totally agree with this (personally I think Penny and Gadget should have equal footing, though I do like 2015's having them work together), I am probably more annoyed by the other side. Have you ever heard of the "Inspector Gadget without Gadget" fandom? They thought the show would be better if it focused exclusively on Penny, and some people have gone as far as to put up episodes on YouTube where all of the inspector's scenes have been edited out.

I saw those videos. At first I understand what they're doing, but at the mean time I found it kind of ridiculous. True that Gadget wasn't exactly smart when solving the cases and Penny did all the work, but he wasn't exactly a total incompetent.

Penny is the cleverer and more skillful of the two, but ultimately she needs him as much as he needs her, even if that amounts to mostly emotionally, if not in the field.

Yes, both emotional and work wise.

Plus it would be impossible for Penny at that age to make it on her own. She may be smart but she is still a little girl who is much too small to be able to fight off MAD agents bigger than her. The new show in general gives me bad vibes from Penny, especially that one episode she called out her Uncle for being so stupid. Don't get me wrong in context her getting upset about her Uncle putting her in danger is obviously understandable, but it does bring up bad emotions I've never really seen(or liked) from the new Penny. Not just her though, Gadget putting his niece in danger also seems out of character for Gadget as well, in the old show he always put Penny's safety first(When he was aware she was with him at the time that is.) And Gowet about Penny from IG2 she actually was a pretty sweet girl in the movie thankfully and the only real spats between her and Gadget came from Gadget not thinking that Penny could be able to help solve the case, it's actually a pretty character growing situation when he realizes he underestimated his niece and feels terrible that he did.

My two favorite moments from IG2 was when he also too realized what he did and felt like crap about it. He even looked like he were on the verge of tears, and even said 'She tried to tell me!..but I wouldn't listen..', I was like FINALLY! geez THANK YOU!!! And at the end were he saves her from being chained up to that bomb cart. She yells something about doing what's more important, cause Claw's getting away. And he cups the side of her face saying, 'She's the most important thing to him.' It was a really tender and sweet moment, made my eyes water a little!

I'd agree with that assessment. I've commented about this elsewhere, so I'll keep it short, but sadly, I believe that the Gadget clan's bond was severely weakened in 2015 to allow for a typical, semi-dysfunctional comedy family. It's sad to see changes like that. And, yes, IG2's Penny was probably the only part of that movie I liked from the start. She just felt to me to be the only person actually trying to portray the original version of their character.
