I forgot about these when we were talking last night . I brought them up in that old forum you've hear me mention from time to time . ------------------------------------------ Vegetarian Wonton: One container of alfalfa spouts One head of cabbage Four shiitake mushrooms One jar of minced ginger One bushel of spring onions A half a block of tofu A thimble of soy sauce Wonton wrappers Cut the cabbage into thin strips or pieces, using the whole mushroom dice them all up into tiny pieces. Use the whole the jar of ginger, cut up the spring onion into small pieces: every thing but the tip with the roots. Cut the tofu into small pieces and dump'em all into a large plastic bag. Add a cap full of soy sauce to the bag and shake it all up with the bag closed. Let this sit in your refrigerator over night. Put contents of bag into a saucepan with a thin amount of water. Contently shirring the contents, cook off all the water and turn off the heat. Put the contents in a bowl. Put contents into wonton wrappers. Wash out the saucepan and wipe out excess water. Put an inch of vegetable oil into pan and put the heat at mid. . Fry wontons until half browned, turn off heat and serve. -------- Wonton Tacos: ground beef salsa wonton wrappers veg. oil salsa cheese dip Cook your ground beef and drain off the grease. Thoroughly mix the ground beef and salsa. Put contents in wonton wrappers. Fry until the wontons look cooked. Pad off grease from the wontons and let cool. Serve with salsa cheese dip.

Nice. here is a recipe I got from feast of fiction. I haven't tried it yet but I want to. Sea Salt Ice cream Ingredients: 2 eggs 2 cups of milk 1/3 cup of sugar 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1 cup of heavy whipping cream Sea salt Cabbage Baking soda Instructions: 1. Separate the eggs. 2. Beat the egg whites in a large bowl by rainbow whisk to stiff peaks. 3. Add sugar to the yolks. Whisk until light and fluffy. 4. Add ¼ a head of chopped cabbage to a saucepan and pour in milk. Cook on low-medium (don’t let it boil) until color starts to saturate. (less than 10 minutes) 5. Take off the heat and add a pinch of baking soda. Pour into yolk-sugar mixture and stir very well and fast (so that egg yolks don’t scramble) 6. Pour back into the pot and stir until thickened, like a custard. 7. Remove from heat. 8. Fold in egg whites. 9. Add ½ tsp of sea salt. Pop into the fridge to cool for 10. Once cooled, add heavy cream and vanilla. Mix with stand or hand mixer. 10. Add to popsicle molds, put into freezer to freeze.

I recently made a curry based on an old Victorian recipe. (Queen Victoria was a massive fan of curry and as a result it became popular during that time period.)INGREDIENTS
- Diced/cubed beef (If you wanted to go vegetarian or vegan change this to a meat alternative such as Quorn pieces.)
- Curry powder
- 1tsb salt
- Flour (Plain)
- 1 onion (Sliced)
- Garlic (Chopped)
- 1 apple (Chopped)
- The juice of 1 lemon
Brown onions in a pan, set to one side. Mix the flour and curry powder together and dredge the beef (Or alternative) in it and gently brown in a pan. Mix the onions in with the beef/alternative and top with boiled water. Add chopped apple, garlic and the lemon juice and simmer for an hour on a low heat until it thickens.
SUPER easy.
If you want to make a basic powder that was used during that time period it consists of:
- Turmeric
- Ginger
- White pepper
- Cardamom Seeds
- Coriander Seeds
- Cayenne Pepper

Goat curry all done. One day of prep and cooking for the best flavour.
You can use any meat for this, but goat is traditional.
Ingredients- 3- 3 1/2 pounds goat meat (Cut in chunks - I personally used chunks still on the bone for the best flavour)
- ¼- ½ cup cooking oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 -2 teaspoons minced ginger
- 1 medium onion sliced
- 4-5 Tablespoons Jamaican Curry powder (See below for recipe)
- 1- teaspoon white or black pepper
- 1-2 teaspoons fresh thyme
- 2 green onions sliced
- 2-3 medium potatoes
- 1 Tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 scotch bonnet pepper, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon gravy granules/powder. (If you are in the US Bouillon powder.)
- Salt to taste
Jamaican Curry Powder Grind everything together into a fine powder
- 2 1/2 tablespoons ground turmeric
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander seeds
- 1 Tablespoon cumin seeds
- 2 teaspoons All spice
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons dry yellow mustard seeds
- 2 teaspoons ground fenugreek seeds
- 1 1/2 teaspoons white or black pepper
- 1 whole dried clove (use about 1/4 teaspoon ground)
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg optional
- 1/2 teaspoon ground or more scotch bonnet pepper or cayenne pepper
Method
Season goat with, salt and pepper. Set aside to get to room temperature.
In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat, until hot, and then add the goat meat and brown it off nicely. This should also leave some nice fond (The brown stuff) at the bottom of the pan. This is perfect for frying off your onions and garlic, as it infuses extra flavour! So add the garlic, ginger, white or black pepper, onions, thyme, tomato paste, scallions (green onions) and scotch bonnet pepper stir for about a minute.
Then pour in just enough water to cover the goat and bring to a boil and let it simmer until tender (depending on the goat size and preference) about 2 hours or more, stirring the saucepan occasionally and adding more water as needed.
About 15-20 minutes before you remove from the stove add potatoes and gravy granules/powder/bouillon powder. Continue cooking until potatoes are tender. If you want really thick curry goat, let the potatoes cook even more. This also reduced the liquid content.

That sounds so good. I've been a curry fan forever. The only problem I see of me attempting to make this, is getting ahold of the goat meat. Unless I find a butcher who cuts up goats I think I'm out of luck.
