In the last season, from the Hallowe’en special, Leonard dressed up like IG. imho I think that he was trying to impress his Penny. It has taken me until today to realize the lame pun.

One of those shows I've been told I should give a chance. Really. I wear being a geek on my sleeve, and those aware of it are surprised I don't know that show.

I used to watch this show when it was left on the TV at work, but I mainly kept it on for background noise since it's not my thing to watch on a regular basics.
Meanwhile, there was another IG reference where Sheldon randomly sings the theme song. lol!

Chuck Lorre, who created Big Bang Theory, actually got his start in the industry as a freelance writer and then story editor for DIC during Gadget's original run; his first script was a Heathcliff short called An Office and a Pussycat. Although he is not credited for any work on Gadget (if he did do any work it would have been on the second season), it makes sense that he'd have a soft spot for the character.

I actually found the video of him talking about how he found DIC. it is pretty interesting that he worked in Heathcliff and now I see why a lot of episodes were pretty good...
