I just have to ask here, what are your thoughts on it? I watched it's pilot episode offical free on YouTube late last night. Then in the afterwards read some of the viewer comments. Except from one person, it was nothing but total criticism. But the comparison to other animated series and I know in advance I read this thrown out on FaceBook. People comparing it to Teen Titans Go & Rick and Morty. I don't agree with the comparisons. First off I can't even watch Teen Titans Go, the humor in it is just too juvenile for my taste. But I understand Lower Decks is very comedy based. As for Rick and Morty ... my guess on that compare is a similar animation style and plot elements being done for shock value. But adult cartoons normally have a degree of shock value thrown into them. I think Rick and Morty being brought up likely more has to do with the series popularity.

I saw a trailer for that the other day. I wouldn't be shocked if my dad ends up checking that out. My dad is into star trek and star wars.

I've seen the episodes and they were enjoyable, even though not all the jokes landed. The characters were interesting, and I like the focus on character development. I have to wonder how's this so fit into the continuity of Star Trek Picard, if it does. I want to see the two main female characters interact more because we haven't really seen that in the five episodes so far.

I wish I had CBS All Access so I can watch the episodes after the pilot. It's because of Picard and Discovery why I want the service. I can't picture Lower Decks fitting into canon timeline at all from what I saw since it's such a goofy show. I have a feeling it's going to be treated like how TAS is.
... And now I have the sudden urge to re-watch episodes of Futurama.

Through a cartoon streaming site I got to watch this in full the other day. This is my thought towards it as a whole so far. If you are a long time Star Trek fan and know the fandom like the geek back of your hand, you'll get every joke in it. I instantly was pulling up every refence automatically as they came. So it's cute but adult funny. However it felt at the same time like an mean hearted jab from Paramount of "ha, you liked that show or movie? Now we're going to turn it into a punchline!"
