Page 54 Oh, so we've got another cyborg critter, do we? When I was coming up with basic notes concerning this AU at the start to writing it. That's where the cyborg animals idea came up ( yes, I know these notes aren't on public record ). Roughly at the same moment I was coming up with background reasoning to Brain. That the name Doctor "Claw" meant he was known for some kind of animal usage / employment within MAD.

Alright, some feline based burglary. That's starting to feel like the MAD we know.

Pages 56 & 57 Man, I skipped an update. Now I feel bad. Ah, well, it seems we're getting answers though. The return of Alan's UFM. Hopefully he'll get over getting replaced to take notice.

It's ok, I just assumed you've been busy with other matters. Yeah, not originally a plot aspect, but one that works well for it. As for Alan ticking off Chief Quimby, that helps to create the division of the good guys over the multiple plots in this story. Over the next few pages that division is going to start to show up better. Plus that assignment Quimby gave John back in the police station. With that you'll notice things further getting pulled into place.

Page 58 Man, Alan looks depressed. Well, from the looks of things, he's not going to have long to feel sorry for himself. As a minor thing, I really couldn't tell what order Penny and Gadget's lines were supposed to be in, so I'm still a bit confused over their conversation. Beautiful page, though. Looking foreword to the next one!

Looking foreword to the next one! He's not depressed, just bored. Playing sky sentinel waiting for his UFM. I did wonder how well people could follow that when I was laying out the talking. It only works when you try to follow it panel by panel and not read it across the board. Thanks! It's rare I use photos in my comics, but for this page I felt it was needed. Drawing that perspective on panel two just felt a little wrong given the dozens of aerial shots I've done.

Well, at least Alan has something to do now.
And as for the second band, that sounds like in important mission, but I'm guessing they're not dealing with MAD considering the words "is assumed" were used.
Also, ah, every version of Gadget that has a teenaged Penny is going to be worrying about boy issues, aren't they?
Nice page. Good luck on the next one!

Oh, you already know who is involved in that, but HAPPY doesn't. Yeah, I have Gadget playing the considered substitute parent role which has surfaced before in my writing of him. He doesn't stay on that track of talk for very long in regards to Dirk & Finn here. Here's the line art for page 60.

Page 60 Oh! Fighty time! Fighty time! And Alan's on his own for this one! That comment made me laugh. I'm not going to reveal here how this encounter ends, but I will say at this moment Finch isn't aware yet he's fighting a HAPPY agent.

I don't think I'd be taking finding a floating guy all that calmly. Of course, I'm not a criminal, so what do I know.

So, I have to ask, are Keas and Shrikes real birds? (I am woefully incompetent as an aviary zoologist...)
